After hearing the anticipated mass last Saturday, Edz (my sister) and I decided to have an amateur photoshoot on Sunday at the Lingayen Beach in Pangasinan together with my cousins and two pekingese, Cotton and Tamtam.
One of my cousins suggested to use a photo app called Huji Cam by Jbinary. Unfortunately, Huji Cam is available for iOS devices only. I didn’t find any info on having an Android versions for this app. Its description says “HUJI Cam makes your moments as precious as the feelings of analog film with old memories. Camera makers of every era always tried to capture the best moments and such an effort continued back in 1998 as well, whereby our memories became clearer. HUJI Cam has the effort of those days to leave precious moments as vivid and vibrant photographs.” (Click here for more info)
Below are some photos taken using the app.
Being a 90’s kid, this made me download the app in a split second and started taking photos of my models (dogs and cousins). I opened the app tapped the “eyepiece” part of it to have a full screen view. It works with both back and front camera with a flash option.
It did really bring that retro feeling and I loved the flare effects when using it with flash. I had to enhance the lighting a little bit since we were shooting in low light. My favorite part of the photos is the date stamp and it could be customized under the app’s settings. Overall, I would recommend it since it’s FREE and very easy to use though Edz struggled a bit in getting the “eyepiece” changed to full view on her phone. She’s using the latest iOS software version and that could be causing the problem.
I’m hoping that Jbinary will launch an Android version of Huji Cam so everyone could enjoy this and remember how fun life is in the 90’s. I will be printing some of these using my Canon Selphy CP 1200 Compact Photo Printer which will be featured on my next post.
