Canon Selphy CP1200 Compact Photo Printer: A Must-Have for Memory Keepers

I mentioned in my previous post that I’ll be featuring my Canon Selphy CP1200 with the photos we took from Huji Cam app. Before that, let me tell you why I decided to buy this printer in the first place.

I’ve been journaling for many years now and most part of it, I do memory keeping.  What is Memory Keeping? It’s a way to document your life and memorable experiences and reflect on it in the future. There are many ways of memory keeping and some of the most common are journaling and photography which I also practice.

I have my Fuji Instax Share SP-1 with me for 3 years and I really liked it until I realized I was spending so much on its film (Php30 per mini film) and I don’t have the option to customize the size since it produces a polaroid type picture so I opted for a more affordable photo printer for long term use and these were my choices:

LG Pocket Photo Printer

  • Mobile Printer: Optional (battery is sold separately)
  • Battery: Rechargeable Li-po
  • Connectivity: Wi-Fi
  • Maximum Photo Size: 4″x6″
  • Warranty: 1 Year Limited Warranty from Canon

It was a no brainer for me to get the Canon Selphy CP1200 printer because of its photo paper’s price, availability and size. I don’t mind if it’s not mobile since I already have my Instax printer if I need to print without having to plug it into an outlet. There’s an option to buy Selphy’s rechargeable battery bit it’s a but pricey ($80 or Php4,160.00).

It’s quite easy to use and it does not require an app to operate unlike other photo printers. Just download a collage app if you want to print smaller size photos and maximize the 4″x6″ space. Save the photo and connect your phone to the printer via Wi-Fi. Return to your photo and choose Print. Your phone will be able to scan your Selphy  as an air printer. Click Print and you’re done! It should look something like this ↓

If you plan to start documenting your life, having a great photo printer like Canon Selphy is a good investment. Plus, I read that its photos could last up to 100 years! Talk about keeping memories!

P.S. I just found out that Canon released the Selphy CP1300 and the pink edition is sooo cute! I’m contemplating to get that version as well. Eeeek!
